Khoj

Khoj is the first event in IIT kgp when first years come out of their rooms and interact with each other on an institute level event conducted by AZAD hall of residence. In this game basically all the freshers are allowed to participate(1st year UG, 1st year M.tech, 1st year of MBA or any other fresher).

Basically, Khoj is the most exciting event in kgp. Everyone enjoys it and gets an opprtunity to see campus. In this event mostly 15 clues are present and the team who gets all clues first wins. The clues are spread throughout the campus at different popular places(except main building and professors' house). These clues are given to each team as a hint in form of a phrase and each phrase refers to a place. At corresponding place a code is written which has to be noted down and given to registration desk of khoj to get next clue.

Around 1000 people participate in this event and closing ceremony is generally held around 10:30 which is simply awesome.

NOTE ::::::::::::::

MOBILE PHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED AND THERE ARE 2nd YEARS STANDING AT DISTANCE OF 15m EACH TO OBSERVE AND KNOCK THE TEAM OUT OF COMPETITION. ALSO KEEP YOUR CYCLE IN GOOD CONDITION AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT EVEN AT NORMAL SPEED.

Any one who misses this event fails to grasp the first happy step of college life.

Rules
  • Each team should consist of at most 5 persons.
  • There is no limit on the number of teams that can participate.
  • Using motorbikes and mobile phones during Khoj-2010 is prohibited. Any team found using these will be disqualified.
  • You are not supposed to tamper with the Clue Codes. Tampering with clue codes will lead to disqualification.
Instructions
  • The control centre of the event will be Technology Students’ Gymkhana. The event will start with the announcement of the first clue at the venue. After that, the teams will get the next clues as and when they get the Clue codes for the previous clues.
  • When a team cracks the clue given, it is supposed to note down the ‘clue code’ from the place and report back to the gymkhana to get the next clue. The clue codes are to be left intact at the place.
  • If at the end of KHOJ, there is a tie between two (or more) teams for a particular prize, then the winner(s) will be decided on the basis of time of reporting the last clue code.
